McDowell Label, Plano TX prints inferior labels
Forbes Pharmaceuticals ordered labels from McDowell Label & Screen Print Company in Plano, TX for one of its client's products, and the labels were faulty causing significant damages. After the labels were applied to the bottles, the color started flaking. John McDowell, president and David McDowell, owner refused to make good on the order after repeated requests by it's client which resulted in thousands of dollars in damages for Forbes trying to fix the problem. Since McDowell Label would not fix the problem, the client was forced to incur the expense of order labels from an overseas supplier, ship the labels air express, relabeling the product and reship to the warehouse. Forbes has since filed suit against McDowell for damages. McDowell has to date not paid for the expenses incurred. Pharmaceutical companies, nutritional foods companies and other Label buyers beware of McDowell Label,Plano, TX. They don't seem to care about fixing their problems in a timely manner and in this case refused to take care of the issues at all.

McDowell Label
yes i believe this.. i worked there.
all they are concerned about is winning awards for their labels.. they will spend way more time perfecting the ones they take to contest than take care of what got them where they are...Customers
We've been doing business with Mcdowell for over 10 years. When everything goes right, they are great and responsive.
However, If anything goes wrong on their end, such as poor quality or they don't deliver what they promised they NEVER own up to their mistakes. Even if the mistake is clearly evident, they will say NO ONE on their team can see the mistake. They make no apologies and no effort to fix their mistakes without a huge battle.
This is why we've stopped doing business with them. :(
Speaking objectively as the packaging media, we have heard
nothing but positive feedback about McDowell. They are an upstanding
well respected company and it's unfortunate that this one "PO'd" customer
chose this forum to express a personal grudge. No matter what business
you are in, no supplier/ customer relationships are immune to occasional
misunderstandings. The McDowell family is well - respected and they have
a superior reputation and are good people. Hopefully, whatever issues can be settled in a private and professional environment.
This is extremely suprising to me. I have had years of experience with this first class organization and NEVER had an issue with anyone with the McDowell organization. Both the owner (Dave McDowell) and the President (John McDowell) are honest and integral people and I am very comfortable doing business with this Christain company.
Wow; don't know what happened, but our company has had nothing but the "most exceptional customer experience" from McDowell Label. I'd recommend giving them another chance...
Terrible company that treats its people and customers like mud on their feet. Stay away!!!
They only care about themselves...
anything positive posted here is likely posted by them...David, Samuel and Joe are like a McDowell.
Tons of other Label companies...RUN from this one!
I also had an issue with McDowell Label and Screen Company last year with some labels flaking off. I moved my business to 6-B Labels in Mesquite and have had not only great service but superior quality.
